3. The rules that breach traders
Like any serious prop firm, The5ers has strict rules. Break them and the account is closed. The five most common traps:
- The « Daily Pause » (not a classic daily loss): lose 3% (Hyper Growth) or 5% (High Stakes) in a day and all positions are auto-closed, with the account disabled until the next day (00:00 server time). You’re not eliminated, but you can’t trade that day. Floating equity counts.
- Mandatory stop-loss (the 2% rule): never risk more than 2% of balance on a single trade. No stop, or too wide a stop, is a risk violation : a very common elimination.
- News trading: no order execution 2 minutes before and after high-impact news. Existing positions can stay, but no new entry inside the window.
- Inactivity: no trade for 30 consecutive days closes the account. The counter starts at sign-up.
- Prohibited strategies: HFT, cross-account copy trading, cross-account hedging, arbitrage and « one-sided bets ». EAs are allowed unless they fall into those categories.
